CUSTOM LETTERING

Josie is an independent pickle maker in the process of bringing her product to a larger audience. She requested a label that would distinguish her product from competing brands as she introduces her pickles to the high-end grocery market.

A hand illustrated portrait of Josie and custom lettering were created for the label. Using her portrait gives a personality and memorable face to the brand. The hand drawn type reinforces the artisan nature of the product. The labels were printed on a natural off-white paper stock and the spot colors selected to enhance the visible ingredients. Mason jars were used because they can be a potential trigger of nostalgia back to grandma’s kitchen or to simpler times — a way to gain an emotional response from the customer.
